About Marissa Jacobs

Marissa knows the importance of having an organized environment and wardrobe for ease of functioning, productivity and peace of mind. She sees how learning to live with less and implementing organizational systems that are effective, aesthetic and maintainable enhances people’s lives.

Marissa grew up in Colorado in an entrepreneurial family. Her dad started Spyder skiwear, and taught her the importance of doing work that you love. After receiving her B.A. in art history from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Marissa moved to New York City, where she studied fashion at Parsons School for Design, and began working in the industry. She worked in Design for Ralph Lauren and Tory Burch, specializing in fabric design. Her organization of fabric archives there eliminated chaos and created a system still used today. This professional fashion experience further honed Marissa’s eye for style, which she loves to share with clients.

Eventually the mountains called her back to her Colorado home, where she appreciates the space that life out west provides. In Colorado she has started an event planning company, Sagebrush Events, as well as her professional organizing business, Create Space Organizing. She is a member of The National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) and is the Marketing Director for the Colorado Chapter. She holds a certificate from NAPO in Eliminating Excess.

Marissa’s philosophy of essentialism focuses on recognizing what clients need and love to streamline their lives, wardrobes and businesses. She knows that when we get rid of the things in our lives that no longer serve us, we create space for the things that do.
